Lower Cholesterol

Lowering Cholesterol Without Medications

If a person is just finding out the harmful effects of trans fat and hydrogenated oils, and has been diagnosed with high cholesterol, they can keep their cholesterol levels down by changing their diets, and the way they eat. Many people who have been told by their doctors that they have high cholesterol may have been prescribed medications to lower their cholesterol, such as beta blockers. Medications have side-effects. People may not realize that they can actually lower their own cholesterol levels just by taking care of it themselves in a more natural way, instead of taking medications that can have horrible side-effects. Being diagnosed with high cholesterol, does not mean that a person’s life is over. If a person has high blood pressure, or even clogged arteries due to high cholesterol, it does not mean that it will always be that way. Arteries can be unclogged by lowering cholesterol levels. Eating the right foods and taking the right natural supplements, as well as exercise is how a person can change their health for the better.

Some people actually need medications prescribed by a doctor when they are at a real risk of a heart attack due to high cholesterol. These types of people need help as quick as possible when it comes to lowering their cholesterol, but for others, medication is a choice. They can either choose to take medications and suffer the side-effects, or they can do it the natural way and make their own changes. The key is to become more educated about cholesterol, and what causes it. Once they learn that it is due to their own eating habits, they can set out to change it. As long as a person is still alive and breathing, they can make changes to their life for the better. They are now being given the chance to reverse what caused the high cholesterol in the first place. Many people need this lesson, so that they can become more aware about what harmful foods can do to them. They can use the information to help others who are also going through the same issues.

The hardest thing about changing eating habits is that people love foods that are not good for them, and they dislike the foods that are good for them. Most people love junk food more than they like fruits and vegetables. For people who already love fruits and vegetables, it will be much easier for them to change their eating habits, but for people who do not like vegetables, will find it harder, but they can do it. Any type of change involves discipline. They will need to become disciplined in changing their diets and lifestyles.
